Look Up a Copic Marker Code

Find the Closest Copic Marker to Any Colour

What This Tool Does

This tool gives you an approximate on-screen hex and RGB value for a range of Copic alcohol marker codes, and can also suggest the closest matching Copic marker to any colour you pick. It is designed as a quick reference for digital colour work, mockups, and planning marker purchases, not as a replacement for testing real ink on paper.

About These Colour Values

Copic does not publish an official hex or RGB chart for its physical inks, because ink colour is a printing and pigment property rather than a digital one. The approximate values used here are drawn from an independently maintained, open-source Copic colour reference dataset, itself derived from manufacturer swatch images. They are a widely used approximation, not an exact scientific conversion.

Why Screen Colours May Look Different in Real Life

Alcohol marker ink is affected by your paper, how many layers you apply, blending with other colours, and even the ink batch itself. Your monitor colour calibration also affects how any hex value actually appears on screen. Always compare against a real swatch or test stroke before committing to a piece.

Coverage of This Tool

This reference currently covers a curated selection of commonly used Copic Sketch marker codes across the B, BG, E, G, N, R, RV, V, Y and YG colour families, rather than the full 358-colour range. We aim to keep this list accurate rather than padded out with unverified values.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this tool do?

It shows an approximate on-screen hex and RGB value for a Copic marker code, and can suggest the closest matching Copic marker to any colour you choose.

Are these official Copic hex values?

No. Copic does not publish an official digital hex chart for its physical inks. These values are sourced from an independently maintained, open-source colour reference dataset, not from Copic directly.

Why are the values only approximate?

Physical ink colour depends on paper, layering, lighting and printing variation, none of which a single digital hex code can fully capture. Treat these values as a helpful starting point rather than an exact match.

How many Copic codes are included?

This tool currently includes a curated set of around 90 commonly used Copic Sketch codes across ten colour families, rather than the full 358-colour range.

Can I look up any of the 358 Copic colours?

Not yet. Rather than guess at values for codes we could not verify, we limited this tool to codes with a reasonably confirmed reference value.

How does the closest match feature work?

It compares the colour you choose against every code in this reference set using distance in RGB colour space, then shows the three closest matches.
